The B & C has been comprehensively updated since 2000. I'm not a fan of some explanations given in the books, but there are hundreds of free resources to use online to fill in these gaps and find better methods. Secondly, if you are planning on using the Edexcel A Level textbooks, as long as you go through all the questions, they are sufficient to get an A/A*. This can make it hard to keep track of your progress in terms of what you've got left to learn (and what is extra stuff that you can ignore if you don't have a lot of time - ie. The book is from the 2000 specification or older, so it won't match the current A Level Specification. I don't think it's worth buying the Bostock and Chandler books for A-Level Maths. I've seen a few people on TSR recommending the Bostock and Chandler core maths book and was wondering whether it would be worth buying it in preparation for the C3/C4 exams this year, and if so, would doing questions from this be better preparation in comparison to the official books? I currently have the official C3 and C4 Edexcel textbooks I don't think it's worth buying the Bostock and Chandler books for A-Level Maths.
